Under the direction of the Families 2000 Director, The Child Development Specialist will work closely with the family and child/children in assessing their individual needs. The Child Development Specialist (CDS) will provide direct services as necessary to parents, including home visits, providing information to parents about specific services opportunities and transition issues; as well as providing interaction with other human and social service agencies as needed.
Skills/Knowledge/Attributes/Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science or Art Degree in Early Childhood or Social Work and/or six years in Case Management, child development and parent interaction
- Specific training in child and family advocacy
- Licensed driver with reliable transportation and insurance
- 2-3 years related work experience with a diverse population
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word)
Youth Development Specialist provides monitoring and supervision of youth and/or activities at the club. Youth Development Specialists are directly responsible to the Program Coordinator. Youth Development Specialist plans, implements, supervises, and evaluations programs in 5 core areas including; education, arts, recreation, athletics, and technology. Develops and fosters healthy relationships, with all youth, in assigned shared space. Ensure programs and activities meet member’s needs, including safety, enrichment, and quality.
Skills/Knowledge/Attributes/Experience Required:
- High School Education—Diploma or GED (College Credits a plus)
- 2-3 years of work-related experience with youth of a diverse population
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Computer skills helpful
- Must possess a valid driver’s license if required to drive the agency vehicle(s)
